The finding of CG is based on McComb's Tail Volume Coefficient (TVo) as popularised by Don DeLoach. Grossly oversimplifying for the sake of brevity; a FF scale model will be more likely to fly well if the TVo (an indication of tail effectiveness) is about 0.65 or better. Most fuselages are built on a ladder jig or jig of similar arrangement. Check the video below re: alternate ladder jig.
